Parliament, Zoo and Dishes

Another jam packed fun day in Canberra but sadly the last :( We have had a fantastic time in the Nation's Capital now onto the events of the day.

First stop was New Parliament House although not so new anymore as it was opened in 1988 !!

C was very excited about seeing this Parliament House as they had been discussing the large art work that lays on the forecourt of the building at school. It is a large Aboriginal artwork and the kids at school had been given the task of recreating it in art class.

C standing in the middle to show the kids at school how big it is.

Now E's turn !!

Next stop for the day was the National Zoo and Aquarium, only problem was that the aquarium part was being refurbished so no entry in there, none the less we had a great time checking out all the 'land' based animals !!

Isn't he just the cutest thing. I could give him a big 'bear' hug LOL !!!
White lions enjoying an afternoon nap
Another cute bear, Mr Sunbear
He was dancing on the ceiling of his enclosure !!

A tree kangaroo, yes a kangaroo that loves to climb trees.
Meerkats are on my favorite list, I could watch them all day

Another on the favorite list, this guy was so entertaining
and so beautiful
See afternoon nap time
Last stop for the day before the drive home was a visit to the Deep Space Station to see the dishes and another free thing !! The kids were in awe of their size and loved seeing all the things that have been used in space travel.

Crazy kids !!

The next generation to fly to the moon

Bye bye deep space
And a goodbye to Canberra. We always love going down to Canberra, there is always something to see and do and it's always changing. A great way for us all to catch up as a family after being apart for so long. Now back to reality :(
