Bike Riding

Over the past few weeks we have decided to FINALLY teach the kids to ride their bikes without training wheels. Both kids have had their bikes for over 2 years and although E rides hers a fair bit with help from me poor C has never really had a chance to get out and enjoy it.

So we come to the pics of Sandy being the good dad and trying with all his might and running energy to teach the kids.

Ready, Set, GO !!

Good work C, keep going and good work dad, keep going !!

Look no hands !!! Go C !!

C did really well considering she started off in tears. She did get the hang of it and can now cautiously ride without the trainers. Hopefully she will keep it up provided that we too keep taking them! C really does prefer her scooter and is fantastic on it. Good work C we are really proud of you.

Next up was E' turn. We knew that this would be a bigger challange as she is only 4 and is so use to having mum push her everywhere as her bike has a great parents handle on the back.

So Sandy took off the trainers but kept the handle.

All ready to go !

 Run Daddy run!

 Go E,no hands !!

Watch out Dad, catch me quick

E also had a great time but it will take her a little longer to get the hang of things. Then hopefully we can all enjoy our weekends with family bike rides.

PS thanks Dad for being such a great teacher and keeping up with us all, you got some great exercise !!

Bream Beach

Each school holidays our cousins, Peter, Sharon and their three kids head off down the coast to Bream Beach just over a hour drive away and spend a few days at the local Caravan Park. Sharon's family have a permanent van which they get to stay in.

So most holidays the kids and I pack up for the day and go to visit.

We all love the drive down and it is a great way to spend a day and basically do nothing but watch the world go by and it is also great for the kids to get together outside of school.

The beautiful wildlife all around the park and Tracee it's free !!!
We always go for a walk around the grounds and with the beach a stones throw from the van (if you can really call it a beach as you will see from the photos) it's a great place to explore.

All the kids together - Daniel, Bethany, C, E and Brianna
and yes it was quite cold !
Best Buddies
After our walk around the beach we headed to the tennis court. Sharon did advise that the tennis court is still the same as it was when she was a little girl !! But the kids still had alot of fun trying to hit the ball around.

Two games one court !
Hanging out watching the kids.
Back to the caravan where Peter cooks up a mean BBQ !!
Chilling out before lunch.
After lunch the kids headed back down to the beach to look for shells.

Beautiful scenery
Just chilling on the verandah.
When we came back from the shell hunt we were greeted by some lovely furry visitors. The kangaroos love to come around and see who's got what.

Our furry friends !! Right outside the van.
Having fun feeding our new friends !!
Had to get in on the action to !
Just to cute !!!
Thanks Sharon and Peter for always letting us come and crash your holidays. We always love to come and visit and hang out with you guys.

Killalea State Park

On the last day of school C went on an excursion to Killalea State Park and after she come home and told us all about what they had done we decided that C could be our tour guide over the weekend.

We have been there many times over the years but I have never set foot on Farm Beach !

The begining of our adventure overlooking the beach.
This is just for the tree. I liked it with the view behind.
"The Farm" beach
So off we went following C around the grounds and listening to everything that she had learnt from the previous day, then it was off down the track towards the beach and lagoon.

Never again do I wish to head down that track !!! It was a potential death trap. It was really steep and covered in gravel. I was to scared to even take a picture !! No wonder about 5 kids come to grief on the track. I vowed at the bottom to never go near there again and that there had better be another way back to the top.

Finally down the bottom, definately worth it.
Very nice !! It's surf that I would go into.
Yes see I was there enjoying the sun !
Very hard to see at first
but there were heaps of these crabs running around the beach.
After the beach we headed over to the lagoon which I never really knew existed. Sandy was also surprised to see how it now looked as he used to drive across it when he was learning to drive.

The lagoon is now home to heaps of black swans and endangered frogs.
Checking out the new surroundings and
showing the kids where he used to drive through.
This beautiful tree was near the end and just had to have the kids stand under it !!
This was the end of our journey for the day. Apparently there is still heaps to see but the weather was so hot we had to turn around and go back, but we will be heading back to continue the journey another day. And we will be finding another way to get there !!! Thanks to our tour guide, thanks C !!
