Day 2 and onto the Australian Institute of Sport and the War Memorial.
None of had ever been to the A.I.S before so something new and exciting. This is where all our athletes come to live and train for the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games. The statues that were outside we once on top of Centre Point Tower when the 2000 Olympics were held in Sydney. Man they are HUGE !!
We booked in for a tour which first took us to an interactive area where there were lots of challenges and fun things to do. We then toured the different facilities where all the training takes place. I didn't take any pics of the actual tour as I was to busy listening to all the interesting information. We toured the gymnastics training center, volleyball courts, the weight lifting area and of course the swimming pool !! (my personal fave!!)

Next stop for the day was the War Memorial. So many great things to look at here to and the kids are now getting to an age where they can start to understand the sacrifices that were made for us to the free and wonderful country that we are. They had a great time checking out all the war medals and the life sized planes.

| So many poppies for so many fallen soldiers. |
Another great day in Canberra, we only had to pay for the AIS tour as the War Memorial is free to enter, and with our own packed lunch and snacks it was a winning day !!!
