Row, Row, Row Your Boat !!

Another adventure day done and dusted. This time it was a trip to Audley Weir and our first time hiring and rowing a boat !!!

The kids were super excited but E was a little hesitant which turned into complete terror when we were getting into the boat. I was the first to get in and once she saw the boat wobble she freaked out. It took a good 5 minutes and Sandy finally just grabbing her to get her in the boat !!! Once we were on the water and floating along she settled down.

Off we go !!

What a funny start to our boat ride. Poor Sandy had a hard time trying to start and get going cause E and I were in the back and C was at the front. But because I wasn't in the middle the boat was lopsided and made life a little hard and we went around in a few circles!!

E asked me to take a pic of these ducks cause she hadn't seen them like this before !

E was quiet comfortable in the end and loved running her hands in the water.

 After rowing up the river one way we headed back to the beginning and moored our boat on the bank to have some lunch. Thanks to the teenage boys that helped pull our boat in for us so that we could get out !! We did try to moor in a different location but when Sandy stepped out into the water to pull us in his foot sunk into the river bed up to his knee !! So no go there !

Picnic lunch in the shade because it was a pretty hot day.

After lunch we all changed into our swimmers and hopped back in the boat. The other end of the river has a water hole for swimming.

Smile !!

That was as far as Sandy would go in cause it was FREEZING !!

I was happy to sit on the side and take the pictures.

The two ladies with the Lilo's had hiked to the area and were going to ride the current back to the beginning. Honestly we thought they were mad and would love to know how long it took them to get back.

All done, time to head back

We loved how this tree grew from the rock.

So we lived to tell the tale of our first rowing adventure !! It wasn't until we got home and relaxed before Sandy made the comment that none of us had sung Row, Row, Row Your Boat. How silly are we !! I wonder what our next adventure will be ????
