Part 4 - Paradise Country

Paradise Country provides tourists with a look at how farms run and Australian Native Animals. We thought that the kids would love to see the animals, sheep herding, sheep shearing and cow milking. They did and we ended up playing Spot The Aussie !!! I wish I had taken a picture of our group as I think there were about a dozen Aussies the whole day and we were 6 of them !!!

Obviously this place is geared for the Asian market but we enjoyed ourselves none the less. They also loved E, yes Tracee we had the Asians taking pics of our child to !!! Imagine what they would have done had R been with us to !!!!

Welcome to "Spot the Aussie" !!!

 
First up was a demonstration of whip cracking, sheep herding and milking a cow. It was quite a good show and funny at the same time. The guys would do their speech about how things worked and what they were doing and in some parts it was funny so we would laugh. Then the Asian interpreter would repeat what was just said then the Asians would laugh !!! Talk about delayed reaction !!!

The Asian thinking that they were really using the whip to hit a piece of tree from her mouth.

After this they had the sheep herding with Rosie the herding dog. E loved her as she is just like Bud, then they brought out a cow for the milking demonstration. Boy was she HUGE !!. I have seen plenty of cows in my time but nothing as big as this one.

E could have stayed with Rosie all day !! She loves dogs !!

Between shows they had photo ops with other animals. E badly wanted to hold the lamb but was to small so Nan stepped in. Thanks Nan !! E also got to pat the horse and have her picture taken. We purchased the pictures at the end - as you do - but also took my own.

Thanks Nan, I know you had just as much fun as E !!

The next show was making billy tea, which was interesting and they had fresh damper and billy tea to try at the end of this one. Yummy !!!

Next, off to the sheep shearing and learning about the different types of sheep we have in the country. This show really had a great set up as the sheep come onto the stage from the back of the room, so they get to run past everyone. The kids thought this was great. At the end of the show you can get up on the stage and have a cuddle with the sheep.

After the shows it was off to see the other animals, kangaroos, koalas, lamas, goats, pigs, calves etc.
At the entrance to one section they provided feed to give to the animals but no bags to put them in, so NO we are not feeding them Tiny Teddies !!

These were taken in the animal nursery. Plenty of food provided to feed them !!

These babies were so cute. We all had a great time feeding them.

Yep Grandma got in there to and had a great time.

Paradise Country was a great place to take overseas visitors and also filled in half a day. We all enjoyed ourselves and loved feeding all the animals. And we also enjoyed "Spot the Aussie" !!!
