Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful loving husband and to all the other wonderful fathers in the world !!

So this year with help from Pinterest I decided to make Sandy's Father's Day gift. He is always so hard to buy for and I really liked this idea but wondered if he would like it just as much.

Turns out he did !!! Yippee for me !!! His first word when he opened the gift was COOL !! For those that know my husband he is a man of few words when it comes to liking or not liking something so to get any response was GREAT !!!

So here is the COOL gift !!! Must say I was very happy with how it turned out.

Today we decided to head to Camden and a little place called Belgenny Farm. During the week Sandy had come across an ad for the place and they were having a big Father's Day open day. C had already been to the place a couple of years ago for a school excursion and really enjoyed it. She loves to take us places that she has already been and at only $5.00 entry for adults and kids free AND you could take your own picnic lunch what a bargain and a great day out !!!

The farm had a list of free activities and demonstrations to have a look at so there was plenty to see and do. When we arrived the sun was shining and there were already heaps of people all set up and settling in for the day. Man some people go overboard for a picnic. They had tables and chairs, picnic rugs, tents, kids toys and lots of bubbles were being blown around. There are some really fancy camping chairs out there !!! Little old us just had our little sandwiches and a few snacks !!!

One demo was working sheep dogs. E loved it !!

The Cactus Garden

On our wonderful walk through the gardens we came across the Cactus and Succulent garden. What a great area it was ! We spent most of our garden time here !! There are alot of pictures to follow but no names of plants. We just loved all of them !!

After walking around this section we headed to the green house for some more interesting looking plants !!

Looks like it is completely wrapped in spider webs !!

So the main reason for our trip was to come and feed the ducks at the large duck pond. But to our surprise the ducks were full but the eels were happy to come and have a feed !!

Don't ask me what she was doing but I had to take a picture !!

So that concludes are great afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. We have definitely put it on our list of things to do again !!

A Touch of Spring

For a few weeks now we have been trying to get to the local Botanical Gardens to feed the ducks. But due to the crap weather that we have been having (yes we know that it is winter !!) we have been locked in doors. Finally last weekend was the perfect pick to get ourselves outside and enjoy the much wanted sun.

We discovered the brand new park. Pretty cool !!

After our lovely lunch in the sun we headed off to explore the gardens. To start with we headed to the rose garden and the red Japanese Bridge. The last time we were here was when we had family photos taken when E turned one !! So it's been a very long time since we have been here.

When I looked up at the ceiling I found a whole heap of painted quotes. I took photos of all of them but will only share a few with you !!!

Finally worked out it was a sundial and it read 10 to 1 !! Right time !!!

This was the scariest bird that I have seen for a long time.  

It came jumping out of the pond and chased the seagulls away. He actually gave one a really good bite ! 

He then headed for US !! Obviously we got of there real quick !!

The next stop was the Japanese Friendship Bridge. The last time we were here as I said before was for family photos when E turned one. So I have found them to compare.
