Happy Boeing 747 Birthday

This years birthday for me started early (no sleep ins this year) with a trip out to the local airport. Today was the day that the first Boeing 747 to make a non stop trip from Sydney to London was to take up residence in its new home at the HARS museum.

A plane that large had never landed at the airport before so the runway had to be lengthened and made stronger just for the one landing. Also the plane had to land quickly and low so that they would have enough runway to land.

Everyone came from everywhere and all vantage spots were taken early. It was great to see so many people come to watch this once in a lifetime event and to have it landing on my birthday was a bonus ! It was only 15 minutes from take off to landing!

Watching the plane circle round and get closer and closer was fantastic and when it finally came in there was a massive roar both from the plane and everyone on the ground !

It was both scary and exciting at the same time and left me on a high for the rest of the day.

After breakfast at McDonald's and a relaxing morning it was off to the circus for the afternoon which was a surprise for the kids and E's first time to a circus. She LOVED it !! There were lions, monkeys, horses, flying trapeze and of course crazy, funny clowns.

A great day all round. Happy Birthday to me !!!
