Second Last Day

So we have nearly come to the end of this great adventure. It has been so much fun exploring this great place with such an awesome travel buddy.  It has been fantastic meeting family, making new friends and creating great memories that will last a life time. So many things have been crossed off the bucket list and I can't thankyou Uncle Jim enough for helping make it all possible.

Today's adventures took us to the Winston Churchill Cabinet War Rooms and a look around Westminster Abbey.

10 Downing Street where the British PM lives.
Once Upon a time you could go to the front door but now you have
to look through the fence so we didn't bother getting any closer
The Winston Churchill Cabinet War Rooms was a fantastic place. Lots of history in the place and all under ground. Battle plans were made from below the streets of London during the war and I could not imagine the way these people lived down there. The conditions were very tight and would have been very stressful. It was so interesting to see what items were used then and to see the original maps and letters was great. A must for anyone to visit whether you are interested in history or not.

The Cabinet Room

This was a doorway in the floor down to the living quarters.

Take note of the different alarms

Mrs Churchill's room. Small and minimal come to mind

Next stop Westminster Abbey, again you couldn't take any pictures inside the Abbey only of the courtyard but still managed to get some good pics. Again walking down the isle and out the same door that William and Kate used on their wedding day was pretty cool well for me anyway !!

Across the road from the Abbey is a lovely green park where lots of people were enjoying the sun shine. There are also statues of famous leaders.

I love the next shot. I was trying to get a shot of Big Ben and the clock tower but my little birdie friend just had to be in the shot too !!

The rest of the day consisted of more walking and exploring, last minute gift buying then back to the hotel and start the great pack !! How are we going to get it all home ??!!
