Howarth

Aunty Norma's sister Joyce and her husband Eric wanted to catch up and spend some time with us so they decided to take us to one of their favourite places, Howarth

What a pretty little town set on the hill side. Being set on the hill side though meant that all the streets were really steep. Great workout for the legs !!!

Howarth is also famous for being where the Bronte sisters were from and one of the main features of the town was the church where they are all laid to rest. There is also a museum but we didn't go in there.

 Now no day out would be complete without having an alcoholic beverage before lunch. Yep Eric and Joyce shouted us a round at the pub !! Funny thing was we were not the only ones enjoying a light refreshment, we couldn't get a seat inside the place !!!

 I couldn't go past the next shop without looking in and I did purchase something !!

 On the way back down to the car we were lucky enough to catch the steam train at the station and were able to stand on the bridge as it left the station.

 

 

 

 

So that concludes another great day in the English countryside and a massive thank you to Joyce and Eric for being such great hosts and tour guides. We love you all very much and can't wait to catch up again.
