This year C took the plunge (all pun intended) and competed in her first school swimming carnival. She did want to go last year but I said no as it was E's first few days at Big School.
Only the students that can confidently swim 50 meters are allowed to go and compete.
C only wanted to compete in the 50 meter freestyle but her swimming teacher told her to also swim the 50 meter back stroke.
First race up was the 50 back stroke.

Score she came in second in her age group. She did hit the lane ropes twice and did end up in tears from it but soldiered on and competed in the 50 free.

The funny thing about her coming second in both races was that there were only 2 girls in that age group !! But hey you've got to be in it to win it right !!! It also means that she goes on to the district swimming carnival.
On Friday all the kids that competed and placed in their races received their ribbons.

We are so proud of C having the courage and strength to get in there and have a real go and now able to head to the next level of competition. Who knows how she will go but I do know that she will give it everything she has. That is always all we ask. Congratulations and good luck sweet heart xxxx
