Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone for 2012. I have been super busy this silly season so did not send cards this year. So to those that read this and usually get a card from us we are sorry and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!

This year was a special Christmas for a few reasons. It was the first year that we have held Christmas with extended family at our place and it will be the last Christmas that we will have in our house. Fingers crossed that we will be in our new house for next Christmas.

On the slackness scale from 1 to 10 I was definitely a 1000 !!! I had to take a day off work to wrap presents, did not send any cards and only put the tree up 3 days before Christmas. It was lucky that the tree did go up at all !!!

Boy the kids were happy when the tree went up !!
After a 5.30am start from the kids (although they didn't wake us up till 6.00am - thanks kids) it was time to get up and see what Santa had left for us. Let the games begin !!

My 3 best buddies opening their gift from me !!! An XBOX 360 !!!
Sandy and his RC Truck from me !!
Now Bud's turn to open his presents.

Time for our guests to arrive and start preparing a very yummy dinner.

The table is set !!
She looks like an Oompa Loompa !!
Merry Christmas Mums !!!
Poser number one with her new hat.
Poser number 2
And the twin posers !!! Aren't they super cute !!
Woohoo more presents to open !!
Someone was happy with her Elvis Perfume !!
Yippee more money to add to the collection !!
Hooray, finally a Ken Doll and clothes !!
Yes I got presents too !!
Now it was time for dinner and I got to use one of my presents. An electric carving knife !!! Thanks Uncle Jim !! I'm not used to making food for lots of people nor am I a pro at roasting anything. So my fingers were crossed that everything was ready at the same time and that it was all fully cooked !! I was very happy with how the dinner turned out and suffered no stress at all !!!

Sandy's turn with the pork !!
I was very happy with how it all turned out. Uncle Jim made a point of letting everyone know. His comment of "It's a lot better than I thought it would be. You have given Denis a run for his money !!" was very touching LOL.

We really got into the family thing and Skyped the American family. Emma and Ethan then the McSweeney household.

Merry Christmas Aunty Diane !!!
So all in all a great day. It was so nice having family together today and wonder where we will be next year. I love catching up with the American's on Skype and would love to do that more often. Tomorrow we are off to Jeanette's for more family time and maybe we can make the boxing day sales !!

Merry Christmas to all xxxxx Keep watch, this is the third blog in 2 days so you may need to back track.

  1. I know I'm from a big family when...it's weird to see a small crowd for Christmas dinner. LOL. Good work, Donna! It was great to catch up with you guys! Happy New Year! :)
